To determine how many inodes are being used per filesystem, run the following: server> /usr/bin/df -F ufs -o i Filesystem iused ifree %iused Mounted on /dev/md/dsk/d1 40354 334430 11% / /dev/md/dsk/d10 47065 448743 9% /usr /dev/md/dsk/d13 6526 489282 1% /var /dev/md/dsk/d7 48854 446954 10% /opt /dev/md/dsk/d16 794 1342182 0% /data If you run out of inodes in a filesystem, even if you have free space, you will not be able to create additional files. The only way to remedy this situation is recreate the filesystem with more inodes (via newfs).
